Bottled plums

Does anyone have a recipe for bottled plums - that uses alcohol to preserve rather than sugar syrup (which we find quite sweet).  We are drowning in plums here and there is only so much chutney, jam pudding we can eat so I wanted to try something different....

We have picked loads today......they will just have to go in the freezer......wash ...half them ...hook out the stones...   into food bags  with a couple of big  tablespoon fulls of sugar  and  in the freezer until its time for another b****y crumble .......we cant give them away ..everybody has laden trees this year .
