Briank
I have just seen a jar of pear and walnut jam at the supermarket. As we have a glut of pears and walnuts does anyone have a recipe for this jam please?Thank youJan Knights (Dept 86)

Tony F Dordogne
Alternatives are to poach the pears in white wine and then freeze them - works well. And see whether you have a honey farm/apiarist locall who can sell you honey in bulk - undried walnuts, while they're still creamy in honey (acacia is good cos it's light) is great with cheese. But try to buy the honey direct and larger quantities, 3 kilos between 15 and 21 Euros. I make my own now as small jars are around 8 euros a jar and even buying the honey should only cost you a euro or so.
