Le Petomane
Is possible to buy fry-able black pudding in France? All the stuff I see is for boiling. I bought some once that had "poeler" among the cooking options, but it all fell apart in the frying pan.
Will
The boudin noir in Normandy can certainly be sliced and fried or grilled. It's often served like that with apples and is delicious.
Cat
As Will says, boudin noir can be fried, but they're a little more delicate than our black puddings as they don't have the same thick inedible skins. They can be fried whole, if done gently, but for frying in slices I find it helps to slice them quite thickly, start them off at a fairly high heat to seal the outsides, and then reduce the heat to finish them. Will
Yes, definitely.I think the best black puddings anywhere come from Clonakilty in Ireland (there's a cue for furry knicks)

Charlotte3
Hi Will, Clonakilty? Now there's a town I never expected to be mentioned here, haven't heard anyone else mention it in years! We used to have family holidays 8 miles from there at Rosscarbery back in the mists of time when I was but a slip of a girl, mother used to buy the best ever milk bread in Clonakilty. It is probably the most beautiful part of the world.Aly
