Clair
I meant to post this a few days ago, but it slipped my mind...I had my first garriguettes of the year last weekend and they were absolutely lovely: small, fragrant, juicy and sweet... a real treat! The annual Strawberry Fayre at Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne is taking place on Sunday 13 May this year. Hundreds of strawberry-covered stalls on the main street, a giant strawberry tart is cut and given away at the end of the day. Well worth a visit! Hoddy
They're coming down in price too. I paid E2.50 last week at St Cyprien market; only E2.00 this week. Hoddy

Unknown
I have planted 10 plants today. 4 in pots and 6 in the ground. I've never grown any before, so here's hoping.
Tony F Dordogne
We now have about 75 strawberry plants of various types, cultivated and wild, and they are smothered in flowers. And have spent two days putting the spares into a friends garden.Another couple of weeks should see some of the setting fruit maturing, then serious strawberry time. Champoin seem to have some nice straws atm but as Hoddy says, St Cyprien market have the best ............
