The problem is that my mother and father listed on the birth certificate are American citizens. However, now my father has become a French citizen because he is married to a French wife. minnie Posted February 9, 2010 Share Posted February 9, 2010 I think that, once you are over 16, you should be able to obtain French citizenship. We were awaiting our turn in the mairie a few weeks ago when Moroccan parents were trying to obtain citizenship for their child born in France.
