Just Katie
I only discovered this a few weeks ago and am additcted to fromage blanc with a dolop of this. I have never seen it in the UK and dont believe that it is widely used there, hence me not knowing about it.I have a mouthful of the stuff right now and am in heaven. What else can I used it for? Clair
I used to buy it quite easily in the UK...I assume you're scoffing the sweetened version [:D] (there is an unsweetened one too).I have done this one and it's dead easy: Petits Monts-Blancsor3 eggs separated, mix yolks with crème de marrons, beat egg whites to soft peak, mix them carefully to the yolks-crème de marrons and spread the lot over shop-bought pastry (in a tin of course!). Bake at 180° for 35mn.More ideas (in French) here: http://www.goosto.fr/recette-de-cuisine/produit/creme-marron-10003379.htmTranslated by google. Val_2
I put a dollop in a dish, cover it with puréed apple and top with whipped cream. Heavenly.

Patf
I've just bought some tins of whole unsweetened, but cooked chestnuts. I made a stuffing with a few, mashed up with breadcrumbs, onion herbs and an egg. For some marrow rings which are now baking in chicken juice. In spite of all good intentions allowed the courgettes to become huge marrows.Chestnuts are very versatile. I think they used to make bread with them.
