Clair
Have you done a search on google.fr?There are plenty of butchers and producers listed...I might even look into it, although the meat from both the village shop and the butcher's is very good [:)]

Hoddy
You still haven't said where you are Puzzled. I know a very good organic pork butcher near Le Bugue (24). Is that any good to you ?Hoddy

dragonrouge
I have never ever heard or used this company but surely and whilst we from time to time would like some good quality beef as in Aberdeen Angus and the like we live in France and shipping stuff down the motorway does nothing for the environment. So locally produced products perhaps? In any event the French do not resent paying good money for good products. Once in the Rhone I was chatting to a vigneron in Chateauneuf and he said that we would willingly pay 20 euros for a wonderful chicken as against factory produced chickens and that quality comes with a price. Here in the Vendee most of the good butchers sell bio viande and chickens and on balance the meat is better than the non bio stuff.
