babcock
According to my recipe for raspberry vinegar the vinegar to use is 5% acidity. I can only find 8% cristal. Can I just dilute it 60/40?
andyh4
Yes.I am not sure I would use industrial vinegar though - but I know that finding white wine vinegar in France is next to impossible.
babcock
It has nutritional values on it so I don't think that it is the cleaning kind.
andyh4
The industrial stuff can certainly be used for cooking, it's just that it has no more flavour than 5% sulphuric acid or hydrochloric acid.

dragonrouge
Why is it just about impossible to buy white wine vinegar in France? We have to wait until trips to La Rochelle or Niort and specialist shops to buy it. Yes lots of cidre vinegar good for pickling and the like but not for much else (in my opinionh)
