coykiesaol
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to buy double or whipping cream in France? I tried making my trifle this year before realising i could see nothing but creme fraiche in the supermarkets. Also, is there anything like table jellies over here? CeeJay
We use creme entier and whip it up, takes a time but very good results. Jelly, as we know it, is fairly impossible to buy so it means every visit to UK results in clearing the shelves at Tesco with jelly which costs about 8p each!! Hoddy
Our local Shopi has recently started to stock jelly.Hoddy
idun
Elle et Vire creme liquid, make sure it is well chilled and whisk it. Once it has started to thicken slightly add some creme fixe and keep beating and it will make thick cream and if you add a little icing sugar during the mixing you will have a creme chantilly.(Creme fixe is usually with the other baking stuff, could be called something slightly different too as there are a couple of makes on the market, but it work)Jellies, if available, are in the foreign sections or irish or english shops or buy some gelatine and make some.
