stan
The raspberry liqueur in the round bottle.....I have been looking online to find out where in France it is made, but it is deceptively secretive! Does anyone know where exactly it is produced and if there are tours and tastings etc?

idun
Wouldn't this just be creme de framboise? along with the creme de cassis etc etcJust answering myself really, it is raspberry liqueur isn't it, so much stronger. Sorry, too strong for me, and I cannot remember having seen such a thing. I would go to a specialist wine shop and ask them.

In fact the previous ...Nous n'avons pas pu interpréter l'adresse indiquée : la Sistiere COUR CHEVERNY....at least opened on map.[:)]The drink was apparently "rediscovered" by an entrepreneurial "frog" residing in Trenton Ohio; production of Louis' favourite drink started 39 years ago.Is it the same 20 employees guiding production in the Loire Valley since the sale of the company in 2006?A fascinating saga! pachapapa
A phone call to Cour Ceverny reveals that the operation is located on the rue sistière, not apparently at the chateau de sistière.CHAMBORD LIQUEUR ROYALE DE FRANCERUE SISTIERE41700 COUR CHEVERNY fixe02 54 79 79 10Obviously a soupçon of poetic exageration. pachapapa
Just phoned a pleasant lady at the company who informs me that there are no visits, no dégustations, etc. The product is haute gamme with 90% being exported but may be found in specialised shops in the main cities. The cost in euros is about € 30 for a 70 cl bottle. If you are keen then you should phone the producer and make enquiries as to marketing outlets. stan
Thanks to all. I have loads of Chambord and use it in cocktails. Since I live in the Loire area, I thuoght I would try and find out where they made it so I could visit. This is obviously now not the case, thanks to Pachapapa`s enquiry, but that will not stop me enjoying the stuff.....
