FRENCH BERRY CREME DESSERT

Ingredients:

2 sticks butter

1 c. chopped walnuts

1 c. flour

1 c. graham cracker crumbs

1 lg. Cool Whip

1 c. powdered sugar

1 tsp. vanilla

1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese

1 (16 oz.) can pie filling

CRUST: Melt butter. Mix with walnuts, flour and graham cracker crumbs.

Pat evenly on bottom of 9x13 inch pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 15

Go on, I give in, where is this recipe from? Graham cracker crumbs, well I think Graham's crackers are american and maybe you can get them in France, but I cannot remember seeing them at all.

Pie filling, yes, there are some french pies, but they don't do canned sweet pie fillings, or savoury ones that I have seen.

And cream cheese? which would one use?

Sounds rather american to me. My husband likes cheese cake, but I don't, now living in England, maybe I could make one for him, maybe I could get all the ingredients.

What is a stick of butter? Sorry but I just cannot get my head around american measurements, they are too obscure. I think for anyone putting a recipe on a european forum should put the equivalent in grams and kilos etc or UK pounds and ounces.
