Bernice
Why don't you buy wholemeal flour (farine complete) and add baking powder (levure chimique) ?Bernice
nectarine
excellent suggestion - thank you.Re. Lidl ... is it actually in there, what is it called?
idun
As so little ordinary SR flour is used in France, it surprises me that there would be whole meal SR flour. All my french friends use plain flour and levure chimique for their cakes, and that sounds like the best option here.
Debra
'Farine a gateaux' is the white SR flour but I don't think I've seen that with 'complet' written in - there again I haven't looked for it! I should, as I'm trying to eat more healthily and lose a bit of weight and I hardly seem to eat any wholewheat stuff lately. Lidl was where I managed to find wholewheat pasta, so you may be in with a chance!

Patf
I've never seen wholemeal flour in France. Farine complète is nothing like it.

idun
I used to buy Intermarche's own make farine complet and we liked it. Would it compare to anything in the UK, no idea. I made good bread with it though.
Bugsy
[quote user="nectarine"]excellent suggestion - thank you.Re. It does make nice bread though..
