Pommier
We bought a new house which has leaks on the garage roof. Eventually the builders referred it to the insurance company who sent out a surveyor. He told us that the zinc joint between the garage roof and the wall of the house wasn't sufficiently covered by render, and that he'd authorise doing another coat of render from the front of the garage back.Today we've received paperwork from the insurer and it looks as if he's changed his mind. The quote attached to the paperwork says:Pignon sur toiture des garages 3 & 4Sur murs au dessus des solinsImpermeabilite Systeme L1Lavage à la pompe HpTraitment fongicide1 couche IRTOP SC diluéeCaifeutrement des ouverturesPontage des fissures au galon B60 enrobe de SCFinition IRTOP 'VELOUTE'Total cost €360 plus TVAThe insurers have asked that we sign and return a paper headed 'Quittance d'Indemnité'which saysJe soussigné (our name & address) bénéficaire de contrat 'dommages ouvrage' cité en référence, declare accepter de la Compagnie Allianz, l'indemnité de430,56 eurosen réparation des dommages suivants:dommage infiltration d'eau dans garageMoyennant ce paiment, je donne quittance pleine et entiere à la Compagnie Allianz et je la subroge dans tous mes droits et actions à l'encontre des responsables des dommages à hauteur du versement effectuéFait à...............le......................Signature........................Two questions really. Does this sound as if it'd fix the problem? (it doesn't seem likely to me!)Secondly, is the 'quittance d'indemnité' me signing away any future claim?Any advice gratefully received.
