What is the French name for the fish called dab in English, please? I have come across the word limande but feel that is used for sole which is bigger.

I would agree with Limande, or perhaps Sole d'Ecosse, tho not sure about that. JFB

Thank you, Norman. Yes, I know what a dab is but didnt want to confuse it with sole. I suspect that there is a local name here where there seem to be plenty at times, but all in English waters!
