billy10
I wonder if anyone on the forum can answer this " I have got hold of a brand new electric scooter which looks almost exacly like a Lambretta, it does not have any pedal assist goes maximum 40 km on a charge , top speed about 25 mph. Now here are the questions what is the legal requirement in France i.e what licence do you need if any , does it need to be insured, do you have to wear a helmet, In the UK the requirement is that it needs to be registered and taxed but it does not cost anything to do this. Anyone know the answers , Regards to all Billy10
BJSLIV
This site says that an electric scooter comes under the same regs as a 50cc petrol. So that would presumably include registration etc. You will also need insurance, it suggests third party would could c 130 euros.http://evtscooters.free.fr/

Bob T
Well Chief, if you click on the link in the post above yours and then click on T-Rex, you will see what a scooter is. It looks the same as the millions that the youths ride around on.
