timc17
I'm toying with the idea of buying another Lambretta (either a 125 or 150) and am not sure whether i'll need a full motorcycle licence or can get away with using my car licence as i used to do in the UK. Anyone help me out please? Thanks Tim.
Aly (used to be Charlotte3)
Hello Tim,You can drive any motorbike or scooter up to 125cc without a motorbike licence provided you are over 21 and passed your (car) driving test at least 2 years ago. Unfortunately you can't drive the 150cc without a full motorbike licence.Good luck,Aly
timc17
Thanks Aly that's roughly what i thought. The next thing is to find a reasonably priced 125 Lambretta here in France! Tim
Nomad
In the UK you would still need to do a CBT - do France have a similar pre-requisit?
Aly (used to be Charlotte3)
What is a CBT? (sorry, been away too long)Here in France, so long as you have a car licence there is no problem, you just buy the bike and ride it.Aly
Sunday Driver
In the UK, CBT is Compulsory Basic Training. It applies to everyone wanting to ride a motorcycle, but in France, they only have it for young riders. It's to stop the complete novice from just jumping on a bike and riding it off to their death....
