Thebiga
Has anyone else had a problem getting insurance for bikes.I went in to my insurance broker today and my car insurance is with AXA now I enquired about insurance for a sports bike because I want to get back into riding after having a few years out. Anyway the bottom of it is that they will not insure me for a sports bike because i have not ridden in the past 2 years. I expected maybe a inflated insurance qoute but not a direct no! They say i have to find another bike upto 800cc non sports and ride for a year before they will insure me on anything larger. Does anyone think that a insurance company that specialises in bikes would be a better bet or do you think they will all pretty much say the same thing. f1steveuk
I was "off the road" although not for long, and all I was asked for was a letter from my UK Insurance company, which cost me £6, and there has been no problem since!
Sunday Driver
One well known motorcycle insurance specialist is Assurance Mutuelle des Motards. However, even they seem to want some prior experience before insuring a sports bike....[;-)]
yorkie
Have you tried Euro Assurance yet? I have a Yamaha 1300 muscle bike and have a good deal. They have a good web site.
Thebiga
Thanks for your input guys, I will try these out. I think my problem is that because I have not owned a bike in the last 2 years they don't want to know. I will try these places and see where I get. Cheers.
