water rat
We're a chambres d'hote/ B&B in central france and are a useful overnight stop for bikers heading south. We have just got a booking from 4 bikers who will be staying for 4 nights. Any ideas for rideouts from you bikers out there? We're just south of La Chatre 36.W Rat
Bugsy
Le Vigeant (circuit-valdevienne) is one good point to aim for. Something on most days and, apart from big meetings, usually free.Information as to whats on HEREOradour (the village of the massacre) is another worthwhile visit. Details HEREThere is a Museum of Motor Vehicles in Chattelerault, well worth a visit, details HEREThat should keep them happy.Gary..
water rat
Thanks ,Gary. We know Oradour ,but wasn't sure if it wasn't too close at 1 hour and a half, then again, we could suggest a v winding route. Also, thinking about the Da Vinci parc at Amboise ,but may be too far.Maybe The Brenne National Park, I'll ask Chris pp if it's worth a visit!W Rat
Bugsy
On the question of distances I've been doing accompanied ride-outs for eight years and have found, without exception, that 'shorter distance' days out are preferable. Easy going, more relaxing and plenty of time to stop for photo-shoots - coffee and, of course, lunch breaks..
water rat
Thanks ,that's good advice for us as we're not bikers and don't go anywhere, anyway! My main mode of transport is push bike or horse,so everywhere seems far away.
