Chardie
Does anyone know of an insurance company that will do all risks, agreed value cover for a motorcycle (old '57 triumph) which is registered as a vehicule de collection? I have tried a few insurers (including so say specialist ones like retro, and Baillys) but they do not cover all risks, in particular they do not cover if you have an accident in which there is no other vehicle involved -eg you are riding along bike slides on a bit of oil and you come off and bike damaged. Would be grateful for any suggestions.

sid
Unlike in the UK where I always arranged my own insurance and shopped around regularly, I use an agent here and he is very helpful. Insurance is generally more expensive, but I've just had a major claim on my house policy and the agent very definitely helped to smooth the way.In your case, as the requirements are rather specific, I would go to a locally recommended agent and see what they offer. You don't have to take any of the proposals if you don't like them.My motorcycle is insured with Allianz (was AGF) and costs 24€ pm and is "tous risques". Chardie
Mascotte looks like a good possibility at a good price.
nomoss
To determine whether Mascotte will cover a particular vehicle, check if it appears here http://www.lva-auto.fr/ , tab "COTE".Maybe they use another reference for motorcycles; I have found them very helpful in answering my many queries about eligibility via email. Chardie
Retroassure do not cover completely all risks for motorbikes. you are not covered if you are in an accident which does not involve collision with anyone else.It is covered if yours is an old car. (Axa was the same - no cover if you are in an accident not involving anyone else.)
sid
With a lot of forum queries we don't get told what happens in the end, we just have to assume that the poster gets sorted out somehow. I'm interested in this thread and would appreciate if you'd let us know how you get on and any useful information you may find in your search.Good luck. Pierre ZFP
Not quite the same thing but a colleague has a collection (about 12) Mobylettes of various vintages. She is insured with Sada www.sada.fr and they specialise in motos de collection with a flexible policy that you can add various risk up to fully comp. Apparently if you want this, the vehicle has to be inspected by an 'expert' to determine a write-off value.
