Just Katie
Hi Phil, this looks like a photovoltic roof.
Dick Smith
Nah, it's some sort of fibrous faux-slate stuff. We've got the same. I must say, I've never thought of it as being particularly photogenic!
mint
mister fluffywould that be asbestos fibres you're talking about? is that the very lightweight stuff they have in the normandy area?i'm asking because i decided against a beautiful house with what looks like this sort of simulated slate roof because i was worried about the replacement cost.i know it's now too late for me but there may well be a "next time" as i do so love normandy
Albert the InfoGipsy
What do you polish it with?
Dick Smith
Yes, it's in Normandy, no, it has no asbestos (though I think it used to years ago) and I polish it with cheeky travelling people...[:D]
franco-phil
a brief shower made the roof look shiny which reflected the clouds. the tiles are composite, just a like for like replacement(but i dont think asbestos is allowed any more). its situated in dept 19 (correze) on the xaintrie plateau. Chancer
In my region the tiles (which are also used vertically) are very common and called "Ardoise quarante quarante" - the size in cm'sAlso to have a tab (or slate) at the local bar is known as an ardoise.
