cooperlola
'Ere, but shouldn't this thread be about French Life and not Photographic Techniques?
Jonzjob
I'll agree wiv dat Steve dey giv it a gen-e-say-quar (gawd me smellingz on the blink again).Dick, it's a delightful photo, with or without the cables. The light is lovely and I am being serious, for a change. If you were to put it on the DIY forum you would get a dozen blokes offering to repoint it, peut etra? Dick Smith
I'm just sorry Gary didn't have time to repaint the window frames. This was taken from the bedroom window of the other house with the cables in St Geoire - and the light in the Dauphiné is something special. Ask TeamedUp. Is the house Gary's or are the cables outside Gary's or the house at St Georie with the light from Dauphiné or is the Dauphiné an area? [8-)]Ahhhhh nurse, it's starting again. Wherez the screens. Sorry Dick, I was trying to be serious 'cause I was confused again..I don't really care 'cause it's a lovely photo, with or without the modern chattels... That's better nurse, it's starting to work nowwwww......
Dick Smith
That nurse of yours puts some hours in, doesn't she?The house is (or was ten years or more ago) in St Geoire en Valdaine, which is in the Dauphiné a bit north of Grenoble. I'm not sure where Gary lives, but it would be a coincidence if it was there. Gary could have restored the window frames when he got rid of the cables, but he didn't. A bit like our builder, really. Jonzjob
Just as well it's an imaginary nurse or I would be broke? Well I think I imagine her? I can't get my mind around a builder sans cables, but...Here is a bit of French recient history. A Fougar Magister landing at Salvasar, Carcassonne. It was the French primary jet trainer for years, now out of service. it was the aircraft used for the French air display team, don't ask me to spell the name or I will go into a corner and cry!!!It was also the aircraft that was used by the Red Devils, Belgian air force, aerobatics team. I was lucky to see the last display of a lone Belgian Magister at Kemble and also to meet the pilot before we moved over.Note all of the broken wind generators in the back ground. Lots of bits missing and no power produced at all, ever!Dirty Tom lives up and to the left of the windmills. Up in the Montagne Noire. Lovely place... Jonzjob
It's a pity the poweres that be don't tipex them out Tresc. They are a tourist attraction with their own road sings. They have been there quite a long time and have never produced a thing! I don't know if they were even commisioned?Yes the aircraft is very pretty, nice paint job. It's about 40 odd years old too... Same type as my avitar.Edit. Just saw your post DTP. I want a zoom lenz like that. It goes round corners tooo [8-)]. Mine only does infra violet, or is it ultra red [blink]. There must have been some lovely views from the top over the past daze. Really clear, but I won't go on, don't wand a crying TomP...
WJT
Wasn't sure where the best place to put this was so thought I would put it here, it was taken a little early for lunch.
