Err, apparently it's illegal to take photos

of the Effel Tower at night, the people that own the tower hold

copyright on all images apparently. I found this on a photographic

website. Apparently photo's have been removed from shared sites for

this very reason.

Details here: http://www.tour-eiffel.fr/teiffel/uk/pratique/faq/index.html  were it says

Q: Is the publishing of a photo of the Eiffel Tower permitted?

A:

There are no restrictions on publishing a picture of the Tower by day.

Photos taken at night when the lights are aglow are subjected to

copyright laws, and fees for the right to publish must be paid to the

SNTE.

No law against taking them - just that stupid rule about not publishing them.

Go on James - pull it if you have to.

[quote user="PeterG"]Yes I can identify it.  They are the famous railings at the side of the Quai Branly in Paris. It's a shame you spolit it by getting the Eiffel Tower in the background.[;-)][/quote]

It's actually Blackpool Tower, just the distance has been foreshortened by the angle. [;-)]

As there is clearly a dearth of pictures of Paris - possibly due to obscure laws forbidding their publication - I will risk another one of my own.

Still light here.

Clark - to get your photos in your posts, just go to Photobucket and copy the lowest address beneath the picture (the one with IMG in it) and then paste that into your post. Assuming you want to, of course.

That is exactly what I have been doing.

On my computer the URL appears on the screen in the posted message - when I click on the URL the picture appears. If I left-click on one of your photos and then click on properties, the form of your URL is similar to the one I paste into my post.

An inhabitant of Notre Dame.

It's because you're posting a hard link inside the IMG tags instead of a simple URL address.  If you click "quote" on this message you'll see that your bit inside the IMG tags is in blue and underlined, indicating a link (at least that's how it looks on my machine).

It should look like this:

Hope this helps rather than confusing matters!

OK. I'll try again.

I've identified my problem - I recently installed a new printer which decided to overlay the toolbar with one of its own and I had been trying to cut and paste using right clicks. I have now got rid of the new toolbar.

Many thanks for your help and patience.
