hakunamatata
I have only £200 to spend and am looking for the best camcorder in that range. Any advice would be welcome. I am looking at the Canon Legria FS306 at the moment, but would appreciate any info on any camera.
Mr Coeur de Lion
For that amount, I would certainly use ebay. You'd get more for your money.
hakunamatata
I agree. I had an ebay account in the UK but have tried to change to ebay.fr and have not managed to be successful so I have given up on ebay. I think I will go with Canon as I already have a Canon still camera and know their after sales is excellent.
Russethouse
Why do you need to open a new account on eBay ? I've used my UK account for French purchases.
Mr Coeur de Lion
Absolutely, doesn't matter which ebay you are registered with you can buy off any of them.
hakunamatata
there was a problem with the Paypal account, I cant remember the details now but it all went pear shaped. Russethouse
In my experience not all French sellers are mad keen on Paypal, perhaps you could try another method of payment ?
hakunamatata
Managed to sort it out, dont know why I had a problem before, however the camera I am interested in is cheaper through a supplier in the UK offering a 5 year warranty!. Nobody on any of my forums seems to be able to recommend a camera at the price I am looking in so I will just have to risk it and go for the name I know and like. Albert the InfoGipsy
The trouble is that kit changes so fast nowadays it's difficult to find someone who has a particular model.
JohnM
I plan to get one of those FLIP cameras that they sell on Amazon for about £140 (or the Kodak equivalent - which has a microphone input). Pocket sized and used by many "BBC Video Nation" producers. Will still use a big one when the need arises but think a pocket sized one is a great asset.
