Mr Coeur de Lion
Does anyone know of a service that will scan in old slides and convert to digital?Would it be the sort of service a camera shop could handle?I've got a heap and want to get rid of them, but not before scannning them. Clarkkent
There are plenty of firms that will do it in the UK. Go into any Jessops and enquire. On line, a firm called Mr Scan will charge about 25p per slide. If you have hundreds of slides you might consider buying a dedicated slide scanner but you are talking £400 or so for a Nikon. Cheap scanners can be found for about £70 - but these are really cameras which photograph the slide rather than scan it. If you want to buy a flat-bed scanner you will find that several have slide scanner attachments. In short - it should be easy for you to convert your slides. Mr Coeur de Lion
Thanks.Ended up buying one of the cheap ones off ebay.Should do the job, they don't need to be top quality, just good enough to see well.Got a price at a local photo store and they wanted a euro a slide. I have around 125, so it made sense to go this way.I'll sell the scanner once I've used it.
Jonzjob
OK CdL, how did you get on with your slide scanner? Has it done the job?
Mr Coeur de Lion
Yep, bought it for €68, scanned all my slides in, then sold it on ebay for €58.Job lot done for €10 as opposed to a professional for about 10 times that amount.
