When Photography is an Art

Recommended Posts

Last night there was a programme on Lucien Clergue, famous photographer (I had never heard of him!).

All his work is amazing, such beauty, what someone is capable of producing with a camera.  Cocteau, Picasso, nus, gitans and as much as I detest bullfighting his photos are something never seen before taken from a different angle below the security barrier.  He said the surimpression photos came about when someone put a film in his camera thinking it was unused and clicked away taking photos on top of his.  The result gave him the inspiration to make use of this as a technique.  The result is, well just have a look!  What an artist.
