Frederick
Why has there been no challenge to this law from within France ...? Are there no French lawyers prepared to take it on ? http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/251830/French-Muslims-use-our-cash-to-fight-burkha-ban
breizh
There have been plaintes lodged. Suffice to say, the French justice would finish second in a race with an arthritic snail. Pray you never come into contact with it!! Makes sense to me to use another country where possible. I use Germany, or the UK, for all my corporate legal actions. The headline is highly misleading, NAY a lie. Note the penultimate paragraph. UK funding cannot be used for this case. If the legal team take it pro bono, fair enough, but they can't get funding via Legal Aid! NO THEY ARE NOT USING YOUR CASH..................not such a good headline. Frederick
I don't think they are suggesting its legal aid funded ... More the legal team who have taken this on are working for a charity that is financed by the UK tax payer .

Mikep
It's probably a silly question, but why on earth is the taxpayer required to fund a charity? You can bet the poor b****y taxpayer wasn't asked! One of the great things about living in France is that you can look at things like this as an amused bystander, rather than the mug who's left with the bill. No doubt there is equal silliness here as well, but we don't get to hear about it.
