Heaven or Wot?

I often take down my own trees and see the whole process through from felling to furniture/carving etc.

I'll spare you the macho lumberjack stuff, I was working in this woodland with Welsh, my right hand man and another chap, Welsh knows me and had apparently warned the other chap what to expect....in short a whistle and you've got a few seconds before a big tree is headed your way

Two days of pouring rain, luckily the skin is waterproof!

Extracting the timber with a borrowed tractor and trailer.

This is Dominique, who reads wood like I do, we've spent many happy hours together, he is a complete expert. Like me he thinks inside of the log. Sarah has the hots for him!

Two years later the timber has air dried to 21-24 degrees, been in the kiln and is now down to 10%-12% moisture content.

The aroma of the freshly dried timber when the kiln door is opened is the second best smell in the world!

Salut, Chris

Edit, forgot the kiln piccy
