Georgina
So there I was eyeing up this lovely telly that I could actually see without standing two inches away, such are these new screens. And it said 20% with your carte fidelity. So weighing up carefully how much that would be, seemed like a reasonable reduction. But did not really know the pros and cons of getting a cf until I got to the checkout and there was ten miserable faces behind in the queue. The nice man explained that I could spend it in the shop, on anything for up to a year and that there were no conditions. Well this worked out at E160 so a good reduction me thinks and well, I can buy groceries there. So I gets me card toute suite she says and puts in all in the nice machine and onto the computer. It goes through straight away she says. Two days later, we need food, and as I have spent most of it on the telly I go to the nice supermarket with me nice card. Nil poing (just like that eurovision song contest) "Nil pwong" says the nice lady on the checkout. "You will have to go back to the exact store where you made the purchase" (some 6 km away). So I have to trail all the way back to the other store who kindly tell me that it should be on my card NEXT WEEK. (that's one week after the purchase). Nobody knew exactly so I would have to make a few visits just to see as there is no way of me knowing beforehand. What makes me mad is that there was nothing to explain any of this in the advert, nobody explained it before I bought and nobody really cared that such a large sum was in cyberspace. Plus it really was my word against theirs, ie there was nothing marked on the receipts or anywhere else. In reality they could just have said later that what I bought was not in the offer and there would have been no proof whatsoever. By the way it was one of the biggest chains. Won't fall for that again and don't you.So anyone want to bring some pizzas round to watch telly at ours??Georgina[:D]
BJSLIV
Virtually all the French loyalty cards operate with a delay like that. With some , eg Carrefour and Geant , you can check the state of your points account online. However I suspect that you are probably talking about the smaller operations something like Leclerc and Intermache who restrict the points to the issuing shop because the shops are in fact independent businesses. Ironically these two actually show the balance on the receipts immediately, and you can spend the balance from the following day.I hope your receipt shows that the card was scanned (Card Ref number on the ticket)

Someone had made a mistake and not put the points on but being the first time I did not know what to expect.Georgina
