jd
We have just bought an appt in central Bordeaux. We are hoping to manage without buying a car but are finding it difficult to explore the whole city in our search to find suppliers of the following :- painted french style furniture, occasional lighting and cycles. Can anyone point us in the right direct please. thank you. JD
Anton Redman
There is a sports and bicycle shop on St Catherine ( near FNAC) right in the centre. For a cheaper choice Decathlon and Auchan at Bordeaux Lac are fairly easy to get to by bus.
jd
Thank you for the advice. Can bikes be taken on the buses do you know?
Anton Redman
Never seen bikes on buses or trams. Bordeaux Lac to the center of Bordeaux is pretty flat and at a guess no more than three or four kilometres. Had lunch in Bordeaux on Monday and there are several bike shops within strolling distance of the city centre. Never looked for them before. moonraker
No bikes on buses. Allowed on the tram at certain times and if there's enough room.http://www.infotbc.com/faq/index.asp?rub_code=13&thm_id=32&faq_id=
jd
Bike bought in Go Sport in the sale. Absolutely loved cycling around the city in the sun. Furniture was eventually bought at a brocante and painted. Hard work but great result. Cost about 20% of shop prices. Apartment beginning to look very tasty. Thanks for advice.
