shirley
We have recently had a wood burner installed. Looking for a wood supplier close to Thury Harcourt- Normandy. Does anyone know of a supplier who delivers and what the cost would be for a good load.[:)][:D]
londoneye
Shirley I can't help you regarding your specific area - sorry. The price for wood seems very variable, it goes up and down like a yo yo around here. The price is also dependent on your area. If you budget on around 50 euros for a cord (or 4 steres) plus delivery costs, you probably won't be too far out. However, since I have no idea what size your house is, how often you are there, and what other heating you have (or don't have) then I couldn't begin to guess how much wood you might need. But perhaps you have an idea already. All I can say is that last winter was our first winter here, and we chopped up what seemed a massive amount to us. Stood, looked at it, congratulated ourselves on a job well done, and how it would keep us warm all winter. Hit the first really cold spell and it was all gone in 2 weeks ........ we were delusional ! (sp?)Have you asked your neighbours ?Also, around here at this time of year, there are loads of signs up on side of road which say that burning wood is available for sale.I am sure someone in your area can be more specific though - just that your post looked lonely, and since it was your first one, and its raining too much to continue barrowing sand, I am sitting here bored. londoneye
Oh I have made an error and I don't know how to correct it. I mean to say 50 euros a stere, not 50 euros a cord. Sorry Shirley. Thus 200 euros a cord.
