DerekJ
I'm bringing across a gas BBQ which has already got a propane compatible regulator fitted. Is bottled propane with this style of fitting easily available in France. |Photo below. If it is, any idea what I should ask for?[img]http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e170/DerekJordan/Sandbox/gasbottle1.jpg?t=1218456541[/img][img]http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e170/DerekJordan/Sandbox/gasbottle2.jpg?t=1218456595[/img]Thanks
DerekJ
Please excuse me for bumping my own thread (sad isn't it).Do I just need to ask for a Propane Patio gas bottle with the fitting for a clip on regulator or something else.Sorry if this is a dumb question but we've only used the blue Calor Gas clip on bottles in the UK and the regulator for them is quite different. Jonzjob
No not sad! I work on the principal of what questions do you ask if you don't know what questions to ask? Confusing init! From what I have seen you will need to get a propane regulator here. They are not expensive and they are the screw on left hand thread type because that is what the bottles have. Not sure about the 'Cube' bottles, smaller bottles. http://www.butagaz.fr/Particuliers/Produit/Bouteille/lecube.aspxGood luck...
DerekJ
Thanks a lot John. That's exactly what I was trying to determine. I just want to get a standard type bottle of propane, something around the 13Kg size.I wasn't worried about changing the regulator but would have preferred not to if possible, but not a big deal. Thanks again. krusty
Your regulator looks like it will fit the "cube type" that the previous poster mentioned. Most times when you first get a bottle over here they give you a regulator , so wait and see .
gosub
The smaller propane cube bottles take the clip on "Détendeur" with a red on off switch, butane cubes have a blue switch, if you want the larger 13kg bottle, buy it from Intermarché or Leclerc and they will if you ask, give you the screw on détendeur to go with it. DerekJ
krusty, gosub. Thanks a lot for the advice. I'll see if I can get a free detendeur from them.
RicandJo
I bought a butagaz 'Cube' from Tridome and also a 'Viseo' from the local garage, both establishments provided the necessary connector free of charge (included in the price I guess rather than free.....) Suze01
For our gas hob in the kitchen I use the small Totalgaz Malice propane bottles as they are not too heavy. When we got them they were on offer with no consigne (deposit) to pay and a free détendeur. I use the 13kg red bottles of Repsol propane for my gas BBQ, they have no consigne to pay at all. The détendeurs can by bought at hardware stores or where you buy the gas from.Look out for special offers re the consigne and détendeurs.
whatdayisit?
I was told that it's illegal to use propane indoors - only butane can be used? Haven't checked it myself but you may wish to, Lisleoise.Stuart

nectarine
We have an indoor Calor gas heater with this vutane connector, but I don't know what kind of bottle would fit on it. We have a 'cube' but the connector doesn't fit. Our local petrol station wouldn't let us look at all the bottle connectors to see, so can anybody advise us please? All advice appreciated. Thanks.[IMG]http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm251/gorgeousfluffpot/FranceMarch2009019.jpg[/IMG][IMG]http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm251/gorgeousfluffpot/FranceMarch2009020.jpg[/IMG]EDIT: Aaaargh, why don't my pictures work? nectarine
Derek, that's wonderful, but what did you do that I didn't do to get those photos up?
DerekJ
No problem, pleased to have been able to help.I took a slight edited version of what you posted (pic #1) http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm251/gorgeousfluffpot/FranceMarch2009019.jpgand pasted it between [ img] and [/img] but without the space between the first bracket and the letter "i". nectarine
No, doesn't work for me. I have typed it exactly with the front and [/img] at the end, and previewed it looks fine with the photo, but when I post I get this (and the img boxes have disappeared)[img] http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm251/gorgeousfluffpot/FranceMarch2009019.jpg [/img]
DerekJ
No, you inserted spaces after the first close bracket "] "and before the second open "["
Scooby
[img]http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm251/gorgeousfluffpot/FranceMarch2009019.jpg[/img]You don't need the <img src etc bit. Just put the link to the image (the bit starting http:// and ending .jpg) between the square bracketed img tags. The [ img ] tags replace the <img src..etc bit. nectarine
OK, here goes, first of all removing the spaces between the link and the img brackets. Now I have actually typed the square brackets around [img] and [/img] but the square brackets disappear when I press 'post' and don't show. The picture shows in preview, but when I post it turns to text and the brackets that I inserted around the img have disappeared. Here goes:[img]http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm251/gorgeousfluffpot/FranceMarch2009019.jpg[/img]Does that produce a picture? No, because the brackets around the img have disappeared after I press 'post' and been replaced by I am going round in circles here, please someone, calm my sanity and help me out !!!Aaaggghh! DerekJ
Sorry, but no... try this. Go to the post of scooby (or my original reply. Instead of hitting the "Reply" button... hit the "Quote" button. You will then see what has been posted to successfully display your image. Clair
Nectarine, when you move the cursor over your picture in Photobucket, a list of links appears. Go to the one listed as IMG Code. Right-click on the code itself and choose "select all' then "copy".Then go back to your forum reply page and "paste" the code into the reply field.[IMG]http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm251/gorgeousfluffpot/FranceMarch2009019.jpg[/IMG][IMG]http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm251/gorgeousfluffpot/FranceMarch2009020.jpg[/IMG]
nectarine
OK, this is potty, I went to your first reply and used the QUOTE and saw the script. Then passed the cursor over from the first img with brackets to the last img with brackets in that particular photo. Did a COPY and then went into this box and did a PASTE, and guess what .... no photo. However, when I press 'preview' the photo in this message shows up beautifully but it is when I press 'POST' that the photo doesn't appear.[img]http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm251/gorgeousfluffpot/FranceMarch2009020.jpg[/img]Might it be something to do with my account, that I cannot post photos or something? I'd imagine a straightforwarded cut and paste of your script would have worked, but it doesn't for me.[IMG]http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm251/gorgeousfluffpot/FranceMarch2009020.jpg[/IMG]
nectarine
Claire, did exactly as you said and pasted into a reply box. Picture comes up in preview but, when I press post, the script comes up and is changed and the brackets around the img box have been removed.Clearly something bonkers going on here. I don't want to keep this thread going to bore people but it's either some settings on my PC or I'm misduplicating something. Do you have to have some kind of permission in your settings to be able to post photos?
