Clair
Does this mean you are a bond fan Clair ?
Yes, I love the films, except those with Roger Moore.I didn't think anyone would top Pierce Brosnan as Bond, but Daniel Craig was very promising in his first outing. Quillan
Its £17.98 on Amazon UK and dispatched on the 23rd March. There was only one JB and that's Mr Connery. Is that you Clair and is that Chocolate? [;-)] Best not say more, you naughty little thing you.
Mr Coeur de Lion
That's a lot of money for a couple of hours entertainment. Timothy Dalton is the closest to the real Bond (in the books).
Clair
I prefer to buy in €, as my bank takes a cut whenever I buy outside the Eurozone. At any rate, it's at £12.99 at Play.
Clair
That's a lot of money for a couple of hours entertainment.
Yes and no...We used to pay that much to drive to the multiplex near Portsmouth in the UK: 45mn drive each way + 2 cinema tickets @ £6.00.At least, you can watch a DVD several times (and I do) and enjoy the extra bits like the commentaries (which I do).PS: I agree, re Timothy Dalton, but not many people do... Have some which I feel are must haves, but most movies I see nowadays, I only enjoy watching once. Saw Slumdog Millionaire the other week and it was superb. But on the second watching of it, for me, it lost much of its appeal. But if you can get more out of a movie by being able to watch it more than once, that's great.Am getting into audio books which are slightly cheaper and last for hours.Listened to the original Casino Royal a few weeks back and it was superb. A far darker Bond than the movies. Learnt how to play Baccarat from it too :)
Clair
Being able to watching films several times is the main reason I buy DVDs.When I was in hospital for a week a couple of years ago, I had my 17" laptop and the super-extended pack of the Lords of the Rings!I had enough time to watch all three movies as well as all the extras! Mr Coeur de Lion
That is one of the few movies I own on DVD (extended pack too).It is also one of the few movies I actually forget the storyline of, so it is quite fresh everytime I see it. I guess with them being well over 3 hours each, there's lot to remember. Plus the special effects and sounds can only be done justice through dvd and my surround sound centre! :)Must do a LOTR Sunday again (watch all 3 in one sitting). But I be blowed if I can read the books. I've tried many times and just can't get into them.
Clair
I have read the big book!! (Skipped a lot of pages about the Ents and Fangorn Forest though... [:$])One I like watching again is The Usual Suspects! The way the main character's story-telling is created from his surroundings is just so good! I also enjoy The Matrix with the added "white pill" layer, which brings a technical vignette into the film to demonstrate how a specific scene has been created and filmed. Last year finished reading it in French, it did take me a long time, but it really helped knowing (the words to) the story almost off by heart[geek].I do enjoy the films, but too short and too much missed out for my liking.I love JB films, and I agree completely about The Usual Suspects, a classic film. Mr Coeur de Lion
I quite liked the Living Daylights, I thought he pulled that one off quite well, in fact it's one of my favourites. However Licence to Kill was awful and certainly the worst Bond film to date. Âme
I'm impressed with the service from Amazon.co.uk. Last week I ordered QoS for £12.98. On Tuesday, I received an email to say that the price dropped before release and Amazon would refund £6.24. The DVD arrived on Thursday."Pre-order Price Guarantee. Because we reduced the price of your pre-release title between dispatch (when we charged you) and the release date, you will automatically receive a refund for £6.24."
