Changing Kindle

Hi. I'm certain I've seen seen something about this a while ago on the forum but can't find it so apologies if I am going down a well-worn path. My Kindle needs replacing. The current one was a gift from friends when I retired, bought in UK just before we moved to France. I see on Amazon uk that Kindles cannot be delivered here. If I order one from French Amazon will I be able to transfer my current hundreds of books from the old one, will I be able to register it with my Amazon uk account, and will I still be able to buy Kindle books on Amazon uk, BookBub etc?

Log on to your UK Amazon account.

Open Account and Lists dropdown menu.

Select Your Content and Devices.

Under country settings select Change.

Enter the address you want to use in the country you want to change to and click Update.

The above works to enable books to be purchased from other countries, so you should be able to access your existing content as you have basically transferred your existing UK account to France.

I had a new kindle delivered to me here in France.  I have a UK and an French address saved on my Amazon account.

Thank you for your replies, didn't see them till this morning as yesterday we went out for a picnic! I am going to order a new Kindle from amazon.fr today. Cheers!
