Southern Alps - good ski resorts

Hi,

I'm moving down to near Nice shortly and wondered what the ski resorts down there (yes, they do exist) are like?

I've heard of Isola 2000 but have never been there and from a quick search see that there are some others called Auron and Val d'Allos - does anyone have any experience of these, know any good places to stay etc?

Also, are there any good Italian resorts easily accessible from the Riviera?

Thanks

Hi,

I own a chalet in Le Seignus (just over 2 hours from Nice) and run catered ski/board holidays there.

Le Seignus (and the nearby resort of La Foux/Pra Loup) has over 150 miles of pistes, a very good snow record (December - April), loads of sun and is cheaper than the resorts in the northern Alps.

Isola is a very ugly resort and gets quite crowded, the skiing's OK and it has a good snow record.  Isola and Auron are a bit small for a week's skiing - unless you're a beginner - but are worth a long weekend.

I've sent you a private message with more details.

Ben
