Vienne_Billygoats
Has anybody in Dept 86 or 16 sat for their permit de chasse? If so, where, was it easy, where can you buy the briefing/examination revision pack etc?I envisage shooting on my own - in the grounds of the local Chateau, (with their blessing), but which is currently not shot over by any syndicate whatsoever, historic or otherwsie - they have the full rights but have not released them before. So, my joining a local shoot/syndicate will not resolve me of any need to secure a permis. Please help......many thanks, mark

Bud
Hello Vienne-BGRecently I passed the theory test for the permit de chasse in dept 16 at Angouleme,I found the best help came via the Maries office, they done somephotocopying of the information they had, then phoned the federation tocheck the fees hadnt gone up, which they had, in the end the Mariesseceratory (SP) got the Federation to send me the info direct.I am taking the practical course/test soon, so will post on here how it goes! The revision books including the 400 question and answers, I got from a bookshop 15euros.Regards Bud
Vienne_Billygoats
Many thanks Bud and well done having passed so soon. What does the practical test involve, and what is its relevance to: target shooting, rough shooting, stalking, roost shooting etc etc - I just wondered what they tested you on?Good luck anyway,Mark B
Bud
Hello Mark,I dont think you get tested on your marksmanship, more of a case thatthey put you in a position and let a clay go up, and you have to decidewhether or not it is a safe shot etc. Or you are told that an orangeclay is a protected species, so when they fling one up you dont shoot.I spoke to a lad today who done the test last year (succesfully) andthere is a lesson first then a test a week or so later on. Emphasis ison safety. The tests cost a bit less than 90euro. The revision book, from aregular bookshop was 15euros. The book has all the question and answersin, ;)BUD
