carper
hi all , we have been considering buying a small lake in france {1 hec max.)for our personal use as a camping place and fishing place and to possibly spend a few months of the year there ,would we have any rates to pay on a lake with land? if it had a small chalet/ cabin on the land with no electricity would this make it ratable? Debra
You pay tax fonciere (tax on the land) but not tax d'habitation (the tax you pay on your house that you live in). A cabin doesn't attract tax d'habitation.
