pogo
Hi.A friend wants me to take and teach his son fishing,I want him to start with an exciting day,and catch a fair amount quickly and easily, possibly with something like a 3m whip.Does anyone know of a suitable lake around the La Souterraine (Creuse) area, and what are the regulations regarding permits for kids (7yrs old),do they have to have a yearly licence?.Thanks

cooperlola
Betty, you encouraged me to read it again and I see what you mean. Certainly should be obligatory! On a serious note, here's the site you need o/phttp://www.unpf.fr/It seems he needs a "carte decouverte" which is free. pogo
I assume it is the 'whip' reference[8-)]? I knew that non anglers would find this amusing, but I didn't think you would lower yourselves to cheap gags....ok.I knew you would[:P]. I suppose it does make me sound like the child catcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang." Come and get your lollip......maggots"!![:D]. It is a particular type of fishing rod, huck finn style, where the line is just tied on the end...simple....and probably very boring[geek]. Still, you have all been enriched with some fishing knowledge today.Wooohooo! Pogo

cooperlola
Actually I thought the idea of needing a yearly licence for kids was a good one. Should be compulsary for all parents in my view. Was the link of any help? Did you find out what you needed to? It seemed to me that it was all on there. Suze01
A couple of years ago I needed to get a licence for my son to fish in the local river. The licences are free to under 11's (which was handy as my son was approaching his 11th birthday).
Tag
Does the bait vary with the species? Worm for short n fat, fly for tall and surly, bread for bright etc?
