pip24
Can anyone give me more detailed information of the route and villages passed through on the stage 18 Cahor to Angouleme , than there is on the Le Tour website.
Cassis
There's absolutely bog all on the official site or anywhere else that I have seen, other than to say it is 210km stage from Cahors to Angoulême.By careful perusal of the crummy routemap on the official site and comparing it with ViaMichelin, I think that the following approximates the route - Cahors to Angoulême LinkHowever, I make no promises! If that's no good, you could contact www.cyclingnews.com
Stefan
It's not available anywhere yet. As is the tradition, you won't get the official, detailed, town by town, junction by junction route until about 2 months before the "off", when it will be on the Official site. TreizeVents
Looks like Stefan is quicker than I am, but I wrote all this anyway, so here it is.Usually, with a few exceptions, the precise route is not known to thegeneral public for a while yet. But it is actually known to some people rightnow. You won't get anything from the cyclingnews.com site, they don'tknow either. But for example, the Montpellier Gazette has published, this week, the exact route for the finsh and start in that town. Andmy maire knows the exact route, and it has been published in the localrag. So we know that the route is not going through our actual town, but bypassing it by going up a small climb and rejoining the main andobvious route past our town. So if you are curious if it goes throughyour town you can ask the mayor, he or she knows for sure, as of lastweek. The same goes if there is an obvious route near you. Ask amayor on the route. The mairie will have the entire map for that day. Although the route suggested by Cassis, or rather for a car byMichelin, MIGHT be the route, but sometimes they take a slightdeviation to take account of works in a town (like ours) or a neatlittle hill to climb near the end or some other detour. The route for that day is 210k and the Michelin route is 212, so, could be the one. So ask themayors. You won't find it anywhere else on a turn by turn basis. And don't miss it. If you are looking for souvenirs then on a flatroute, its best to be at the feeding station. More action. If youwant the calm approach, scout out a good cafe for the day. Best yet, find a slightly elevated spot where you can see for some distance, and have a nice picnic under a tree. Be prepared for awful greedy behaviour if you are at the feed station or anywhere in a crowd, where the families are desparate to accumulate free tat. The kids do it for themselves, and the adults team up "for the kids".
