Is it easy to set up a band ? reason i ask im a bassist, although we havent made the move yet (still looking) it would be nice to know if there is an active music scene french or english. There are a couple around here in south Deux-Sevres and have Brit members. Or an orchestra perhaps. It depends what sort of music you want to play. Out in the country there's little choice but you may fare better in a larger town.I'm a bass trombone player, ex brass band. As there are no brass bands here and I joined a "harmonie orchestre", which is like a UK wind band or military band. I'm also a member of a big band (swing/jazz) which I've never played before and I find this much more interesting. Your local mairie is a good starting point.
