ali-cat
As usual, our Sunday morning was started by the sound of horns blowing, dogs barking & shotguns being fired. What I would love to know is - exactly what are they hunting around here?!!The area is flat, full of vineyards with no wooded areas for large animals to roam or hide. There was apparently one wild boar seen between Angouleme & Cognac a few weeks ago - but I doubt that's it. The only animals we know of to be in abundance ..... are voles. Could this be it? Are they hoping to make vole-au-vents, sausage voles or chinese spring voles for their dinner?!! [blink]
Clair
In the Lot, the boar hunting season has been extended by a month. One evening last week, a boar family shot across the road in front of the car... near-hit!This morning, another near-hit, but with a small deer this time... woolybananasbrother
ali-cat, they don't really know themselves. If they get as much as a partridge it is a cause for feasting. Though the idea of mouse and vole pie seems interesting.
cooperlola
If you have the vole-au-vents recipe handy, Ali-cat, that would be good, as Lola kindly left 3 on the doorstep today....[:P]
