Please come on a walking holiday with me in Nice and the Cote d'Azur

To all the ladies on the forum:

I'm looking for a companion to go on a walking holiday with in Nice and the surrounding areas.

No, I won't be getting us lost because we will be going on a guided walk with British people.  It will start on 21 March, will be for 8 days, and will cost £383.

The downside is, you will be sharing a room with me but, hey, look at the price, bargain basement or what!

It will be breakfast and dinner included and we will be expected to find our own way to Nice.  If you are interested, you can, of course, stay with me for a night or two or even 6 or 7 and we will make our way to Nice by car, train, plane, whatever and we will have a fabulous time.

Look, you can't go to Nice and spend 7 nights in a 3 star hotel for that money under your own steam; nevermind the walk sto be included.

So.............who's up for it?  Cendrillon? Anyone?

Sweet I would absolutely love to come. We might (if all goes well) be actually moving to the Jura end of March, and that means no holidays planned in near future.  Really hope you find a walking friend and I would love to another time. Hope you will come and walk with me in the Jura one day. My very best wishes xxOdile

Odile, dear Odile, I am so happy that your move is happening!

I will, of course, come to walk with you in the Jura.  But I'm also rather keen to learn some cross country skiing, that is, if I'm not completely against any place that is actually COLD!!!!!!!!!!

Wooly, it's not a sexist thing, honest!

You can't come as you're a man and I'm looking for a female companion.  And, Randy, you know, I'd have Randy at the Chateau anyday but I can't say that I want her with me on a walking holiday.

Soree...............................eeeee!

Cendrillon, thank you.

It's just that I have read a couple of books about the Provence (Regain by Giono and La Gloire de Mon Père by Pagnol) and I thought it would be nice to see the Provence of Chagal, Cézanne, etc............

Notice I don't mention Peter Mayle though I daresay his book is mildly entertaining?

Pierre, thank you so much.

I MAY have found someone; to be confirmed in the next day or two.

Will definitely let you know either way as I so appreciate your willingness to help.

Oh Coops, look, we'll do a Thelma and Louise and go off in your new car, OK?
If you're serious Sweets, I'll ask my sister.  She's a great one for walking hols and I'm sure would like a bit of company.
Pierre, looks like my trip is off![:(]

Holiday Company says this particular trip is booked up.  Unless there's a cancellation, then it's no go.

If your sister has anything specific in mind, I'm free after, say, the next 4 weeks (waiting for OH to recover his walking legs).

Or, cycling is also a possibility.  France would be nice but I'd consider anywhere in Western Europe, including the UK.

Thanks again, Pierre.

Anyone else has any ideas, suggestions?

Thanks but bad enough to have a dog who goes off like a rocket if there's so much as a chicken within smelling distance.

Plus, if I have to have a donkey bag (like the doggy poo bag), I don't fancy carry the poo for hours before I could dump it in a bin?

I'm sorry your trip is off Sweets, it sounded like you were really up for it.  I phoned my sis only to find that she was at Gatwick waiting for a flight to Cuba!!  I'll talk to her when she gets back and see about the possibility of walking/cycling/donkey hols.  No idea what the response might be though.

Merci, Pierre.  You're right, I could have done with the trip.

Just been a bit low and fed up with the winter and missing the UK, etc.

Nevermind, the days are getting longer and I am out and about with the dog instead of cooped up indoors being a pain in the butt for my poor OH.
