Ruthie
I know that chicken poop is fab on the compost heap and having invested in two very cute ducklings recently I'm curious to know whether duck poop is equally as good on the old heap!CheersRuthie
Jeejee
Any poop is good poop. Not sure whether it will be as high in nitrates as chickens' and with just the two it may take a while to get a bucketful. Happy poop scooping.
Iceni
I was under the impression that chicken poo took up to 2 years to degrade to something useable so it was not wise to put it onto the general compost heap - advice wanted as next week we go to buy our chickens AT LAST having had the chateau poulet ready for weeks.Dihttp://www.iceni-it.co.uk
Suzyq
All poultry poop is a good heater up of heaps; but it needs quite a lot to make it worth while. I have huge amounts of duck and goose poop; what won't go on the heaps I pile in with the sheep manure and rot for a year. Have also bagged it and let it fester for 6 months - popped this on a deep bed and planted the pumpkins and squashes in it - coming up so much of a treat they are threatening to take over.Suze
