Marie-Clare
I went looking for a compost bin this morning and was amazed at the price - 82 euros for a standard domestic sized one. Can anyone advise on anywhere which has one cheaper. Also where is the best place to get compost until I get mine up and running. I am in 45.ThanksMarie-Clare
Mpprh
Hiit is worth asking at the Mairie. We have a local scheme where you can get a plastic composteur for 8 Euro.Peter
LesLauriers
The Leclerc's near us are advertising a compost bin for €29.99 this week - looks quite a good one too. I thought of buying one or two but I might now ask at the Mairie thanks to Mpprh!
Iceni
Ours are made from old pallets (Bob Flowerdew would be proud of us) - cost nowt.John
Tresco
Ours are made of pallets too. In our garden they look better, I feel, as there are three of them and its a very 'rural' garden, but it was a lot of time and effort to make them. I think if these are valid considerations 8E is a really good deal.
Danny
We bought a plastic composter from Pole Vert (can't remember exact price, less than forty euros though - turbo-composteur). It is square with a slide-up slat on each side for taking out the compost when ready. I think they are on special offer in OBI at the moment. I would prefer home-made pallet ones too but we put our food waste in the compost and our neighbours dogs/local wildlife would eat it before it could decompose. For compost in the meantime, try your local dechetterie - ours offers compost for free. Jane
