Carolski
We have recently moved into our new french farm house in a small hamlet in north Charente Maritime. However, we didn't notice when we initially put in an offer for the house that it had a huge poplar tree at the edge of the garden. (Really must change my glasses or change my optician)! ,which is approx at least 100 ft tall ,( hard to be exact as no intention of climbing up it). Some friends told us that we are responsible for any damage it may cause to the nearby overhead electric supply cable. Any comments/advice etc. Seems an impossible task as we certainly can't deal with it ourselves. In anticipation,Carole:
Jackie
Like you we have a problem tree in the garden which needs a trim by a tree surgeon so would be very interested in any reponses as well. We are about 20 minutes from Niort...........John in Dept
Patf
Try contacting EDF. They came and trimmed off a tree on our land that was about to touch their lines. This was before we moved in and the previous owner organised it so I don't know if they had to pay. Pat.
Ianhaycox
EDF trimmed our trees that were touching the overhead lines. They wanted to chop them down (easier?) but I asked them to remove the tops and they did, Free of Charge.I did have to remove the trimmings tho'
