Iceni Posted January 29, 2005 Share Posted January 29, 2005 If you are in one of the areas where the temp is still well below zero and you have stored veg, now is the time to go and give them a look and a fondle. Our 3 large Pottimarron looked OK but on further inspection the skin was just starting to go. We have limited storage at the moment so I kept checking them. They were starting to go off where the flower would have dropped off.I now have 2 cut up and cooking on the wood burner and the third will be done and frozen tomorrow. One carrot or potato going off will rot the rest. Hope that your veg is OK. Interesting drive today - car and people are OK but it is not something I want to do again quickly Amazing what an inch of snow does to a hill.
