Iceni
OK I should have put 'up to 150 mm wingspan' for this moth but it did not look so fancy Being ever more amazed at the amount of wildlife in our bit of 46, this morning I was entertained by a Black Kite hunting over our neighbours fields and then John found a Peacock Moth sitting in our Leylandii hedge (so it does have some use). This is Europes largest moth.I had better do some work, can't spend all my time watching the birds, moths and hornets.
Alcazar
That's SO beautiful. How can people like butterflies, but be afraid of moths? We often get Honey buzzards, and common buzzards over out property, we know when they arrive because next door's hens go crazyWe also get, worryingly for me, Short Toed Eagles, worrying because their common name is the Snake eagle, their diet is 95% snake! Not that I'm petrified of snakes you understand.............
