Depends on where you are. I wouldn't camp out in the shell, for example. But possibly the french scorpions aren't poisonous. Wicce Posted June 16, 2005 Share Posted June 16, 2005 Hi there. Scorpions of all size will give you a bit of a nip and in the case of the big ones this can be quite considerable. However, I doubt if the little ones will give you too much trouble. They raise their tail with the barb in it when threatened, but will scuttle away to hide under things unless you really provoke them. The stings are quite painful, but unless you have an allergy to scorpion stings you won't die.Like all insects, they have a role to play in the garden and pest control.
