Tresco
Fantastic news about the RHS!!The last time I looked it was for members only.Gay, what is the post titled about your sickly fatsia? I can't see a likely candidate from the titles on the first page.
Russethouse
I think I called it 'Fatsia woes'Its one of the few plants I saved from my garden makeover but now I am getting big brown patches on the leaves. Its quite unsightly and I have removed quite a few leaves. The plant has just been moved, which was unavoidable but the leaves are turgid and new leaves are forming.Today I have sprayed it with a biological insect spray and fed it with sequestrene (in case its magnesium shortage) which is what it looks like. Tresco
Sounds like it's getting better if it's growing new leaves. I wondered if it might have scale insects, but if the brown patches are big perhaps it was just sulking after being moved.
Russethouse
Yes I think the move was a bit traumatic ! A quick check this morning didn't reveal any more patches so fingers crossed! We have cleared most of the garden, laid mypex (weed resistant membrane), and are covering it with gravel. When I get the new plants in it will start to look better but it looks like a gravel dessert at present Of course the ground is rock hard so planting is quite hard work.
