Personally, Honda beat most. I have two. However, irrespective of make, you will find one with manual gears an utter pain when compared with Hydrostatic drive.

Honda mowers are made in Ormes too. Spares are thus very readily available. The Japanese-sourced engines last forever provided you change the oil and filter regularly.

Another make the local Paysagistes use is John Deere. These are the dogs' nuts, but very expensive.

The cheap ride-ons in the Bricos are normally light duty rot boxes with cheap Tecumseh Mazak-metal engines... if you MUST buy one of these, make sure you get at least a Briggs and Stratton engine...and a LONG warranty.

IMHO!

I have been using a Craftsman 16cv on our 6000 square metres of mostly grass for the last 4+ years without any problems at all. It came from Herriberry at Barbezieux (16),was much cheaper than the equivalent John Deere, and I can thoroughly recommend it.
