opas
I have planted seedlings of red and green cabbage, they have taken and are huge! But what , if anything, can I do to make their `hearts`tighten up in the middle. They have huge outer leaves and are starting to tighten in the centre , should I have taken/take off some of these outer leaves.? Cassis
Hi OpasThe hearts should gradually form by themselves without any encouragement on your part. Only remove dead outer leaves. When you come to harvest them, if you cut the stem through below the heart and score a cross in the remaining stump, you should get a bonus crop of fresh leaves that you can harvest and use as greens.Phil
